Whole Person Education at the Primary School

“Full-Curriculum” Reformation:Promote the Multidisciplinary Integration, Encourage Children’s whole Development

Full-curriculum education is a comprehensive teaching reformation which is aimed at nurturing the whole person, covering the school life, and promoting a multidisciplinary approach. The purpose of full-curriculum education is to motivate students to become active learners, inspire students’ learning interests and facilitate students’ whole development.

  All-in-One Textbook

The text book of whole teaching integrates multiple subjects, including English, Mathematics, Chinese, etc. Carrying only one book in their backpacks, students will see some new terms , such as The New Term Begins, Spring is Coming and the Clock Fairyland, rather than the traditional subjects on their course schedule. The learner-centered courses motivate students’ potential to the utmost.

Self-contained Classroom with Three Local and Foreign Teachers

Being devoted to the research of full-curriculum education, the international elite classes of the Primary school are composed of qualified teachers. In each self-contained classroom, two local teachers and a foreign teacher are responsible for the delivery of the academic subjects. The three teachers work cooperatively to create the ideal learning environment for their students.

Learning through playing, going to School is not boring any more

The courses are dynamic but not chaotic. Teachers have the creative latitude to present content at their pace, making students acquire knowledge through activities and have fun while learning. Complementing the library literature with various themes, students’ portfolios grace the classroom walls.

Admittedly, it is very important for students to acquire knowledge and skills, but cultivating students’ interest in learning and helping students build optimistic personalities are the more significant objectives that the 21st Century International School has been pursuing.
